Kiev army suffers with less ammunition and troops than the invader and prepares for a 2024 with greater obstacles to regain occupied territory, writes the Spanish newspaper El País.

Petro Burkovskiy, Executive Director of the Democratic Initiatives Foundation (DIF), a Ukrainian center for political studies, is among those who who hope that the official goals of the offensive will be realized, as he explained in a telephone interview: "We must believe in these objectives to raise the morale of our people, but if it cannot be in a few weeks, it will be in 20 weeks, this will determine future offensive campaigns".

Burkovskii stresses that the tempo of any military operation does not depend on the timetable, but on the resources available. In the future, he points out, new weaponry, such as F-16 fighter jets, must arrive. The clear air inferiority has been one of Kiev's main setbacks in gaining territory.
