The big problem is to ensure the EU's commitment to maintain economic and military aid by 2024 ІІ Petro Burkovskiy
The Ukrainian president met with Biden in hopes of unlocking a $60 billion aid package. Petro Burkovskiy, Executive Director of the Democratic Initiatives Foundation spoke to El Independiente about the problems that Ukraine may face.
"At the moment, the big problem is to ensure the EU's commitment to maintain economic and military aid by 2024. The biggest threats are Russian attempts to spread disinformation in Ukraine to discourage mobilization and Russian plans to disrupt the energy system over the next three months. Of course, the Russians are trying to seize new settlements in the Donbas to frame the war as a change of trend against Ukraine", says Petro Burkovsky.
According to Petro Burkovsky, "in the US neither Democrats nor Republicans want to blame them for a failure or weakness in the eyes of Russia and China. We may have to wait until the end of January or February but finally the US will give its green light."
